Who’s Eligible

Find out if your organization is eligible for a utility bill audit.

Agriculture and Manufacturing firms were given special exemptions to help get us out of the Great Depression in 1933. Now Nonprofits and Government Facilities are included. Eligible organizations have exemptions from paying certain taxes, surcharges, fees, tariffs, etc. on the utilities (gas, water, and electricity) they use to conduct their business. Some also get breaks on the telecom services they use (phone, Internet, and cable).

Programs differ by state, since each state defines which organizations are eligible, which services can be audited, and how many months can be included in the audit.

Following are the types of organizations that we can work with, the list is not exhaustive.
